CVE-2025-53604Network attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded response allocation

Published Jul 5, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

Denial of service in the web-push crate before 0.10.3 allows remote attackers to exhaust client memory through a malicious endpoint. HyperWebPushClient and IsahcWebPushClient allocate response buffers from an untrusted Content-Length value without enforcing a size limit. Exploitation requires a service to send a notification to an attacker-controlled Web Push endpoint, causing the sending process to exhaust memory and terminate or become unavailable.
