CVE-2025-53542

Build-system command execution via shell-interpreted signing inputs

Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Jul 10, 2025

Command injection in Headlamp 0.31.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands during macOS application packaging. The app/mac/scripts/codeSign.js hook interpolates teamID, entitlementsPath, and config.app into a command string passed to execSync without escaping or argument separation. Exploitation requires control of one of those build inputs and execution of the packaging workflow, granting code execution on the macOS build system.
