Reflected XSS via unescaped 404 path
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
Reflected XSS in Pi-hole Web Interface before 6.3 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's browser via a crafted URL. The 404 handler inserts the requested path into the body tag class attribute without sanitizing or escaping it, permitting an injected onload handler. Exploitation requires a victim to follow the malicious link, after which attacker-controlled script runs in that victim's browser context.
