Stored XSS via unsanitized custom script injection
Published Aug 23, 2025 · Updated Aug 23, 2025
Stored XSS in Lunary before 1.9.25 allows attackers to execute JavaScript in users' browsers through a deployment environment variable. The Analytics component passes NEXT_PUBLIC_CUSTOM_SCRIPT to dangerouslySetInnerHTML without sanitization or validation. Exploitation requires control of the deployment environment or prior server compromise; every user who loads Analytics runs the persistent script in Lunary's origin.
