Code execution via wrapped ABF event count
Published Aug 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Integer overflow in libbiosig 3.9.0 and Master Branch (35a819fa) allows attackers to execute code via a crafted original-format ABF file. Within sopen_abf_read, attacker-controlled lActualEpisodes and lNumTagEntries values wrap the 32-bit EVENT.N sum, causing undersized POS and TYP allocations before loops write beyond both heap buffers. Triggering requires an application to parse the supplied legacy ABF file; the resulting partly attacker-controlled heap overwrite supports code execution in that application's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
