CVE-2025-5351Network attack vector

Authenticated process crash via stale key-export pointer

Published Jul 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 1, 2026

Double free in libssh 0.10.0 through 0.11.1 allows remote authenticated users to crash key-exporting applications under low memory. pki_key_to_blob() frees its params structure without setting the pointer to NULL, then passes that stale pointer to OSSL_PARAM_free() after a later string allocation fails. Exploitation requires OpenSSL 3.0 or later, authenticated access to a key-export path, and successive error conditions; the bounded consequence is process termination.
