Authenticated credential disclosure via command argument injection
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Jul 11, 2025
Argument injection in Advantech iView before 5.7.05 build 7057 allows remote authenticated users to disclose database credentials. NetworkServlet.restoreDatabase passes an input parameter directly into a command without neutralizing argument delimiters, allowing arbitrary command arguments to alter the restore operation. At least user-level access to the network interface is required, and the reported consequence is limited to information disclosure, including sensitive database credentials.
