CVE-2025-53496Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped system message

Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 31, 2025

Stored XSS in MediaSearch 1.42.x before 1.42.7 and 1.43.x before 1.43.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script. A MediaSearch system message is inserted into the page as HTML without neutralizing attacker-controlled markup, so stored script executes when rendered. Exploitation requires privileges to modify the affected message and a victim to load the rendered interface, enabling browser-context data access or page modification.
