Stored XSS via forged privileged-user request
Published Jun 27, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Sam Charrington RSS Digest 1.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to create stored XSS via a crafted request. An unnamed plugin function accepts a state-changing request without correct WordPress nonce validation and stores script-bearing content. Exploitation requires a privileged WordPress user to visit attacker-controlled content, after which the stored script executes in that user's site context.
