Unauthenticated code execution via IRM deserialization

Code injection in Broadcom Symantec IT Management Suite 8.6.x, 8.7.x, and 8.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The IRM HostedService on TCP port 4011 uses a legacy .NET Remoting formatter that deserializes attacker-controlled objects without restricting permissible types. Network reachability to that endpoint is sufficient and requires no authentication; successful exploitation runs code as the vulnerable service process.
