Authenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in An-Themes Pin WP before 7.2 allows remote authenticated users to place executable files on the web server. The theme's bundled Responsive Menu upload handling accepts dangerous file types without adequate validation, permitting storage of a web shell. Subscriber-level access is required; executing the uploaded shell grants code execution in the web server's security context.
