CVE-2025-5315Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Guest-level incident hierarchy modification via API bypass

Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Jun 26, 2025

Missing authorization in affected GitLab CE/EE releases allows remote authenticated users to add child items to incident work items. The child-item API accepts crafted requests without independently enforcing the Guest role restriction applied by the user interface. A Guest account with access to an incident work item is required, and exploitation changes that incident's work-item hierarchy without broader project privileges.
