CVE-2025-53132

Local privilege escalation via GRFX race condition

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

A race condition in Microsoft Windows Win32K-GRFX allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges on affected builds. Concurrent GRFX operations access a shared resource without proper synchronization, creating a use-after-free timing window. A low-privilege local account is required; exploitation needs no user interaction or network reachability.
