Cross-group attachment access via missing group constraints
Published Jul 2, 2025 · Updated Jul 2, 2025
Missing authorization in HomeBox before 0.20.1 allows remote authenticated users to read, update, or delete other groups' attachments. The attachment repository looked up, updated, renamed, and deleted records by attachment ID without constraining queries to the caller's group. Any authenticated user who can guess or enumerate a valid attachment ID can expose, alter, or permanently remove another group's inventory data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
