Uncontrolled recursion in Academy Software Foundation MaterialX 1.39.2 allows remote attackers to crash applications via nested XIncludes. The processXIncludes routine in MaterialXFormat recursively reads xi:include href targets without enforcing a depth bound, exhausting the thread stack. On Windows, one parsed file can reference an attacker-hosted UNC chain; other systems require a large locally accessible chain.
