Application crash via unbounded nested nodegraph recursion

Stack exhaustion in MaterialX 1.39.2 allows remote attackers to crash applications that parse a malicious MTLX file. The XML parser recursively descends nested nodegraph elements without enforcing a maximum document depth, eventually exhausting the process stack. Exposure requires an application to parse an attacker-supplied MaterialX document, and the demonstrated consequence is process termination.
