CVE-2025-52999Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Denial of service via unbounded JSON nesting

Published Jun 25, 2025 · Updated Jun 25, 2025

Denial of service in FasterXML Jackson Core before 2.15.0 allows remote attackers to crash parsing applications via deeply nested JSON. The streaming parser creates nested JsonReadContext states without enforcing a depth bound, allowing recursion to exhaust the Java call stack. Exposure requires an application to pass attacker-controlled JSON to an affected parser; the bounded consequence is an application or service crash.
