CVE-2025-52997Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account compromise via unrestricted password guessing

Published Jun 30, 2025 · Updated Aug 4, 2025

Improper authentication controls in File Browser before 2.34.1 allow remote attackers to compromise accounts through password guessing. The login endpoint accepts unlimited guesses, password changes permit trivial values, and new instances use a known default administrator password. Network access to the login page is sufficient; success yields the permissions of the guessed account and can expose managed files.
