Stalkerware concealment via dropped TUI scan results
Published Jun 23, 2025 · Updated Jun 23, 2025
Omission of security-relevant information in spytrap-adb before 0.3.5 allows local users to conceal known stalkerware from the interactive UI. In scan.rs, the known-stalkerware branch logs a warning but fails to pass its high-severity Suspicion object to report.app(), so the TUI never receives the hit. The condition affects scans of USB-connected Android phones through the interactive interface; the noninteractive scan command still lists the match.
