Local root escalation via writable systemd service

Privilege escalation in Sangfor aTrust Client 2.3.10.60 through 2.5.10.32 on Linux allows local users to gain root access. Incorrect permissions make /lib/systemd/system/eaio_service.service writable, so an ordinary user can replace ExecStartPre with a command that systemd executes as root. Exploitation requires ordinary local access and the EAIO component; Ubuntu clients 2.4.10 and later do not include EAIO and are unaffected.
