Cross-scope file access via unrestricted child processes
Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Improper scope enforcement in File Browser 2.0.0 through 2.33.7 allows remote authenticated users to access files via shell commands. The command runner launches permitted commands as unrestricted child processes under the server UID and never applies the account's file scope. An administrator must enable command execution and grant commands; the user can then read or alter every server-managed file, including account password hashes.
