Sensitive-data access via nested blacklisted SQL functions
Published Jun 30, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2025
SQL injection in Frappe Framework before 14.94.3 and before 15.58.0 allows remote authenticated users to access sensitive database information. In db_query.py, validate_order_by_and_group_by checks an extracted function name against a blacklist only for exact equality, so nesting a blocked SQL function inside another function bypasses validation. Low-privileged access to an affected site is required; a crafted order-by or group-by expression exposes sensitive information returned by the database query.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
