Account takeover via forged password-change request
Published Jul 2, 2025 · Updated Jul 2, 2025
CSRF in Laundry 2.3.0 allows remote attackers to take over an account by inducing a logged-in user to open a malicious link. The data/change_pass.php endpoint accepts a cross-origin POST containing an attacker-chosen pwd value and changes the current user's password without requiring an anti-CSRF value. The victim must have an active Laundry session and interact with the link; the demonstrated consequence is replacement of that account's password.
