Root command execution via unsanitized login username
Published Jul 16, 2025 · Updated Jul 16, 2025
Command injection in OmniAccess Stellar WLAN AWOS 5.0.2 GA and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The getSession function in echo.fcgi directly interpolates the JSON-RPC username into uci shell commands passed to popen without sanitization. Unauthenticated network access to the web management interface is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants full control of the access point.
