Server takeover via trusted edited channel posts
Published Jun 24, 2025 · Updated Jun 24, 2025
Improper authentication in Hikka before 1.6.2 allows remote attackers to execute commands and access the linked Telegram account. The dispatcher trusts the outgoing flag retained on an edited channel post, so another channel editor can replace a victim-authored post with a Hikka command. Exploitation requires the victim to publish in a channel editable by the attacker; execution grants control of the Hikka host and Telegram session.
