DLL hijacking in AMD Vivado 2024.2 for Windows allows local users to gain elevated code execution during installation. The installer resolves DLL dependencies through an uncontrolled search path associated with weak local permissions, allowing a lower-privileged user to supply a DLL that it loads. Exploitation requires low local privileges and user interaction; successful loading runs attacker-controlled code with the installer’s elevated privileges.
