CVE-2025-52540

Local privilege escalation via out-of-bounds write

Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in the AMD Platform Management Framework Driver allows local users to escalate privileges on affected Ryzen systems. The driver improperly validates attacker-controlled input before writing outside the intended memory bounds; AMD has not disclosed the affected interface or function. Low-privilege local access is required, and successful exploitation can gain elevated execution with confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact.
