CVE-2025-52451

Filesystem path traversal via data-source upload

Published Aug 22, 2025 · Updated Aug 22, 2025

Absolute path traversal in affected Tableau Server branches allows attackers to reach filesystem paths via a crafted data-source upload. The create-data-source-from-file-upload tabdoc API fails to confine a supplied path to an intended directory in versions before 2025.1.3, 2024.2.12, and 2023.3.19. Salesforce has not disclosed which files can be read or written; exploitation requires adjacent-network access and user interaction.
