CVE-2025-52448Network attack vector

Authenticated production database access via user-controlled key

Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 25, 2025

Authorization bypass in Tableau Server allows remote authenticated users to access the production database cluster via validate-initial-sql. The validate-initial-sql API trusts a user-controlled key without enforcing authorization, enabling arbitrary SQL against the cluster. Reachability requires an authenticated account able to invoke the API; successful exploitation exposes or modifies production database data without interrupting service.
