Production database access via unchecked initial SQL key
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Jul 25, 2025
Authorization bypass in Salesforce Tableau Server before 2025.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to access production database data. The set-initial-sql tabdoc command trusts a user-controlled key without enforcing object-level authorization before issuing initial SQL. A low-privileged Tableau account and network access are required; exploitation permits arbitrary SQL-based access without interrupting the service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
