Bluetooth exchange disclosure via improper pause handling

Data transmission without encryption in Apache NimBLE 1.8.0 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to read Bluetooth exchanges. The controller accepts Link Layer control PDUs in invalid encryption states and sends a rejection instead of terminating the link after a paused encryption restart lacks a Long Term Key. The attacker must be within Bluetooth range and trigger the pause-and-restart sequence; the remaining connection traffic is exposed, but integrity and availability are unaffected.
