Remote code execution via unrestricted child_process access
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025
Code injection in Studio 3T 2025.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute operating-system commands through IntelliShell. IntelliShell evaluates attacker-controlled JavaScript that imports Node's child_process module and passes commands to exec without restricting module access. The attack requires a MongoDB connection and an IntelliShell payload; execution is blind, but commands run with the desktop application's privileges.
