Administrative shell access via unauthenticated Telnet enablement
Published Jul 15, 2025 · Updated Jul 15, 2025
Authentication bypass in Nexxt Solutions NCM-X1800 firmware UV1.2.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain administrative shell access. The /web/um_open_telnet.cgi endpoint enables Telnet without checking authentication, after which the service accepts embedded credentials. Network reachability to the management endpoint is sufficient to enable the service and execute arbitrary commands with administrative device privileges.
