Internal network access via DNS-based SSRF bypass
Published Jul 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
SSRF in PHProxy 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to access internal HTTP services through crafted _proxurl URLs. The _proxurl filter checks the supplied hostname but does not validate its resolved IP address, so a public domain resolving to loopback passes the filter. No authentication is required; an attacker-controlled DNS name resolving to an internal address lets the proxy relay requests to services reachable from its host.
