Unauthenticated account creation via exposed sign-up API
Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated Aug 21, 2025
Authentication bypass in AiKaan IoT Platform 3.25.0325-5-g2e9c59796 and earlier allows remote attackers to create accounts. The public sign-up API remains functional when sign-up is disabled in the login UI because the registration endpoint lacks server-side access control. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient, and the resulting accounts can reach restricted portal functionality without administrative approval.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
