CVE-2025-5228Public exploit

jhttpd crash via unbounded notify parameter copy

Published May 27, 2025 · Updated May 27, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DI-8100 firmware 20250523 allows attackers on the local network to crash jhttpd with a crafted HTTP request. Within arp_sys_asp, httpd_get_parm accepts the notify query value and sprintf copies it without a length bound into the fixed-size v16 stack buffer. The CNA rates the path unauthenticated, while the published proof of concept first signs in to the management interface; demonstrated impact is a jhttpd service crash.
