Stored script execution via unsanitized note titles
Published Aug 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Stored XSS in NotesCMS at /index.php?route=notes allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted note title. The notes.php Add_Action and Edit_Action handlers persist the POST title directly without stripping HTML tags. Execution occurs when a user opens Preview, allowing the payload to read session data or perform actions in that user's browser session.
