Unauthenticated backend operations via exposed testing panels
Published Jan 23, 2026 · Updated Jan 23, 2026
Missing authentication in the Aptsys gemscms backend through 2025-05-28 allows remote attackers to execute sensitive POS API operations. The production Web Services module exposes predictable developer and QA panel URLs that enumerate backend services and submit live test input without authentication or session validation. Internet reachability alone is sufficient; exposed functions include transaction retrieval, credit adjustments, order management, account operations, and internal queries.
