Out-of-bounds read in mmstu.c in VideoLAN VLC media player before 3.0.22 allows remote attackers to crash VLC via an MMS server response. The MMS transport parser handles a crafted response with type 0x01 and reads beyond the response buffer; public sources do not identify the exact missing bounds check. Exploitation requires VLC to connect to an attacker-controlled MMS server or open a stream that reaches one, and the documented outcome is an application crash.
