Stored script execution via unsanitized template descriptions
Published May 25, 2025 · Updated May 28, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in CMS Made Simple 2.2.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through template descriptions. The Design Manager stores the Templates Description field without adequate sanitization and later renders the submitted HTML in its administrative interface. A CMS login and a later page view by another user are required; the script runs in that user's CMS origin and can modify displayed content.
