Admin-browser JavaScript execution via unencoded profile fields
Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Jul 31, 2025
Stored XSS in Microweber CMS 2.0.0 through 2.0.19 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via profile fields. The /microweber/api/user_save endpoint stores first_name and last_name values without adequate sanitization or output encoding, and the admin profile page renders them as executable markup. An account able to edit admin-visible profile fields can persist the payload, which executes when an administrator loads or refreshes the profile page.
