CVE-2025-5150Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated denial of service via dotted attribute paths

Published May 25, 2025 · Updated May 28, 2025

Class pollution in MultiModalDataset.getitem in DocArray 0.40.0 through 0.40.1 allows remote authenticated users to halt web APIs. The method splits an attacker-controlled preprocessing field into attributes, follows them with getattr, and writes the final attribute with setattr without blocking Python internal class paths. Exploitation requires an application to expose preprocessing paths through a network API; overwriting ModelMetaclass.subclasscheck makes Pydantic-dependent requests fail until the Python process restarts.
