Local code execution via unsafe checkpoint deserialization
Published May 25, 2025 · Updated May 28, 2025
Unsafe deserialization in InspireMusic at commit bf32364bcb0d136497ca69f9db622e9216b029dd allows local users to execute arbitrary code. In inspiremusic/cli/model.py, InspireMusicModel.load passes LLM and flow checkpoint paths to torch.load without weights_only=True, enabling Pickle payload execution. The attacker must have local access and cause the application to load a crafted checkpoint; execution inherits the invoking process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
