Arbitrary file write via unchecked tar extraction

Path traversal in AIM Server 3.28.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files through a crafted backup tar archive. The restore_run_backup() function calls tarfile.extractall() on archive members received through the run_instruction API without checking that resolved paths remain inside the restoration directory. No authentication or user interaction is required; writes are limited to locations accessible to the AIM server process.
