Unauthenticated code execution via imported plugin ZIP
Published Jul 22, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025
Unsafe plugin upload in eosphoros-ai DB-GPT 0.7.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted ZIP file. The upload handler sanitizes only the filename, then scan_plugins imports attacker-controlled Python from the archive during refresh_plugins. No authentication or special permissions beyond network access to the endpoint are required, and the code runs with the DB-GPT process privileges.
