Unauthenticated memory corruption via unbounded time parameter
Published Jul 24, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8V4 firmware 16.03.34.06 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted HTTP POST. The compare_parentcontrol_time function accepts the unbounded time form field and passes it to sscanf for transfer into a stack buffer. The request requires no authentication or user interaction; the published proof of concept supplies 2,000 bytes, but it does not demonstrate code execution.
