Kernel code execution via unrestricted MSR access

Improper access control in CPUID cpuz.sys 1.0.5.4 allows attackers to execute arbitrary Windows kernel code via crafted device-control requests. The driver exposes RDMSR and WRMSR through unvalidated IOCTLs, letting callers overwrite MSR_LSTAR and redirect KiSystemCall64 through a ROP chain. The caller must access the driver on 64-bit Windows with core isolation absent or disabled; 32-bit applicability remains unconfirmed.
