Administrator-browser script execution via unsanitized settings
Published Aug 27, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Stored XSS in diskover-web Community Edition 2.3.0 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through administrative settings fields. The settings handler stores ES_HOST, ES_PORT, TIMEZONE, and other configuration values without neutralizing HTML or script content before rendering them. Network access to the settings submission path is sufficient; a persisted payload runs when an administrator later opens or edits the page.
