Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized CGI parameters
Published Aug 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
OS command injection in the Calamaris log exporter CGI in IPFire 2.29 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands. The /cgi-bin/logs.cgi/calamaris.dat endpoint incorporates thirteen unvalidated report parameters into a shell command, so metacharacters alter command execution. No authentication is required; a crafted request can run commands with the CGI service's privileges, while the published proof uses outbound DNS to demonstrate execution.
