Authenticated script execution via unescaped data attributes
Published May 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored DOM-based XSS in TablePress 3.1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted table attributes. DataTables merges jQuery-derived data-caption, data-s-content-padding, data-s-title, and data-footer values into initialization or column options without HTML-entity escaping. Contributor-level access permits injection, and the script runs when a visitor opens a page containing the crafted table.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
